Charity concert for the kibbutzim around Gaza, the hostages, and coexistence in cooperation with the Stiftung St. Matthäus
An evening of music, contemporary Israeli art and poetry in solidarity with the kibbutzim near the Gaza Strip whose inhabitants were killed or kidnapped by Hamas on 7 October.
With Alma Sadé (Soprano), Tehila Nini Goldstein (Soprano), Luise Enzian (Baroque harp), Roy Amotz (Flute), Seunghoo Lee (Clarinet), Ofer Canetti (Cello), Asaf Levy (Violin), Edi Kotler (Violin), Friedemann Slenczka (Viola), Michal Friedlander (Piano), Yehuda Inbar (Piano), Trio Lirico: Franziska Pietsch (Violin), Atilla Aldemir (Viola), Hila Karni (Cello); Niels Negendank and Nadja Geuther (recitals).
Works by Antonio Vivaldi, Paul Ben-Haim, Franz Schubert, Sergei Prokofiev, Sasha Argov, Menachem Wiesenberg and Yiddish cabaret, among others, were performed. The two art projects Wrapping Memory and Local Testimony were also presented.
All proceeds from the event were donated to the kibbutzim emergency fund, the Israeli organisation "Bring Them Home", which works to bring abducted Israelis home from Hamas captivity in Gaza, and the "Standing Together" movement, which campaigns for dialogue, coexistence and peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
